Rooftop Rhythms #15- Hosted by Dorian "Paul D" Rogers Note: Rooftop Rhythms #14 yet again broke new attendance records with over 425 people at the new Hilton Capital Grand hotel (formerly Rocco Forte) on Friday, September 27, 2013! After a three month hiatus for Ramadan and to allow our expat crowd to get back settled in the UAE, the energy was both electric and palpable with one of the biggest crowds any open mic around the world has ever seen. The weather finally became cool enough (if only for part of the night) to open the retractable windows and make it a classic, indoor/outdoor affair. Over 20 talented poets, singers, and rappers graced the mic and impressed the always engaged and attentive crowd. Before, during, and after the show, DJ Allad from Al Ain brought the best soul, Hip-Hop, and R&B tunes. Co-host, Alton Ramsey, magically kept the show moving as an ideal master of ceremonies. Guests are requested not to wear baseball caps, flip-flops, and shorts. UPDATE: Veils and traditional attire are allowed.
