Black on Black Rhyme-Abu Dhabi and Jean Hellon Productions present... Rooftop Rhythms #16- November 22, 2013 Hosted by Dorian "Paul D" Rogers Note: Although the show was limited to 225 people due to a major nuclear research conference taking place at the hotel, some have already mentioned that it was their favorite one yet due to the talented, first-time performers and the crowd-favorite regulars performing new pieces. The cooler November air and added outside speakers from White Cube Productions allowed Rooftop Rhythms to continue the trend of making the show an indoor/outdoor affair for the second month. Co-founder of Black on Black Rhyme, Akinbiyi "Shadow" Sawyerr, both co-hosted and featured to a great crowd reaction. His performance masterfully wove in topics of love, humanity, and even a little rapping. DJ Allad had the crowd grooving before the show and dancing during intermission and after show. Videographers Katrina and Marc captured performances which will debut soon on the Rooftop Rhythms YouTube page while James Simmons of JS Photography snapped away at the beautiful mix of more than 30 nationalities. The crowd interacted with the performances by clapping, laughing, and cheering while they helped to decide the scariest movie character of all-time, Freddy Krueger! Congrats to Hibo for winning a deluxe breakfast for two at the Hilton Capital Grand Hotel for winning the scariest movie character of all-time competition. We also celebrated the birthdays of our October attendees. The show ended with "School's In" a freestyle poem started by Sunnei Dais. A Who's Who n Abu Dhabi culture and media was in the place.
