RetroFlect... Real House Music with a twist!

RetroFlect takes you back to the era when 'image was everything'. From 70s Glam Rock, through to the New Wave and Romantics genres of the 80s, right up to the rock and pop classics of the late 80 and early 90s. As the sun sets and the heat gets turned up, DJ Afroboogie (in his first ever residency in Abu Dhabi), will be twisting the night into his very own style of deep, vocal house with a splash of the 'classics'. If you've been missing your walks down quality music lane when you've been out recently, then this is a night with a difference not to be missed. -----Soulninja----- Always behind the mask, little is known about the origins of the mysterious Soulninja. It is rumored that he was born into a beachfront nightclub, owned by his Sensei, sometime in the late 20th Century. The history books indicate that Soulninja spent many years studying the very essence of music, graduating from prestigious colleges and universities, to later become a master of music. After journeying to far away continents, Soulninja has finally settled in the UAE, where he can be found demonstrating his skills in world class venues such Pearls & Caviar. His Style is constantly evolving along with the music of today… "A true Ninja has the ability to combine many different styles to cause maximum effect, while remaining smooth in transition." http://www.facebook.com/djsoulninja -----Jono Bradford----- Born in Western Australia, Jono grew up during two golden-ages of music, "grunge" and "brit-pop", and was quickly hooked on the beats of Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Sound Garden, Stone Roses, Blur, Oasis, Pulp, Radiohead and Chemical Brothers to name a few. After studying at The Academy of Radio in Western Australia he worked his way through various radio stations until a job at Arabian Radio Network in Dubai. Here he worked as presenter, producer, programmer and promotions manager. He also got to meet some famous names in the DJ and Music industry including Eric Morillo, Sasha and Basement Jaxx. Since moving to Abu Dhabi, Jono is now a part time DJ mixing tunes from the 80s through to today. -----Afroboogie----- Playing all night sets in Johannesburg's clubs and partly responsible for the start and rise of the early raves he became a respected name in the country's club circles. After 5 years at the helm of ESP in Jo'burg, made Sunday afternoons at the infamous club unforgettable as did his own Friday club, Flyhouse. This established him to a point where he initiated and started the release of dj mix compilations and went on to release nine cd compilations in total. In 2006 he moved to Dubai and while a resident at Trilogy on weeknights he soon after took up an exclusive weekly residency with Peppermint Club where he was on support duties for the likes of Satoshi Tomiie, Timo Maas, Luciano, Sasha, Lee Burridge and the likes but it was also the resident nights where he took the reigns for the peak time sets and delivered his blend of percussive driven house and techno with infectious grooves and afro/latino influences! Releases on labels like Defected, Stealth Records, Stereo, Twisted, Audio Therapy and Younan Music continue to push his envelope as a producer and has received support from the likes of Timo Maas, Steve Lawler, Danny Tenaglia, Deep Dish, Tom Stephan, Steve Porter, Oscar G, Saeed, Roger Sanchez, Laurent Garnier Chus & Ceballos and even Sasha to name few.
