This original East London boy, started DJing on the UK university circuit before venturing into the notorious London nightclub scene. The music he plays is RnB, hiphop, 90s jams, 80s funk, afro beats and those old skool classics. In London, he has played at numerous famous central London nightspots and has booked many of the top UK urban music DJs of the last 16 years, such as Shortee Blitz, Da Firin’ Squad, Matt White, So Solid Crew to name a few. From 2008-2014, Josey Kray had been Qatar’s number one RnB and hiphop DJ and one of the country’s most popular nightclub DJs. He is a tireless supporter of urban music and through his numerous performances with premier international DJs such as DJ Jazzy Jeff and other music artists, he firmly established himself on Qatar nightlife scene. Josey’s signature skills of DJing and MCing is recognized by his loyal fan base. He won Qatar’s Best Urban DJ at the Urban Stars awards event in 2010 with his DJ partner, DJ Legacy. His five year long-running, ‘Yo! Get Low’, specialist RnB, hip-hop and ragga party at Qube (the largest nightclub in Qatar, 1,500 capacity), has also been widely acclaimed and was the biggest urban music nightclub event in country. He held down a residency slot for the next eight years at the venue, booking various international DJs and music artists. His last project was at Qube on 27th March 2014, where he performed with the number one hip hop music DJ and personality in Europe – the legendary Tim Westwood.
