Brief on DDE Champs:
The Dubai Desert Extreme Amateur Championships has been a premiere event every year for action sports enthusiasts from around the region. This is one of our biggest and most important events on the calendar where we crown new champions! Over the years, this contest has taken place in several different venues throughout Dubai. In 2007, at a time when Dubai was without a skate park for a short period, we even took it to the streets. We’ve kept the event alive and strong using every obstacle to our advantage. 
The contest last year took place at varies places over the DDE Champs weekend. It started at the infamous Rage Bowl on a Thursday in The Dubai Mall (biggest mall in the world). This was followed by an event at the Rage Skatepark (Dubai Festival City) on the Friday and finished in Dubai’s indoor ski slop at ‘Ski Dubai’ (Mall of the Emirates) on the Saturday. This year’s event will be the 10th anniversary of DDE Champs!
Brief on ASL:
"Adrenaline Sports Live presented by Rani 2010 is the region’s only festival for adrenaline-fuelled sports and holidays and includes water, land, urban and air activities, competitions, demos and “Have a Go” sports trials.
The launch of Adrenaline Sports Live was a great success, with strong support from the entire industry including retailers and manufacturers, media, the local government and sports communities within the UAE. Adrenaline Sports Live takes place over 3 days and is located in the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre in Abu Dhabi.
The festival held the first ever Arab Amateur Skate Championships and the Rage Game of S.K.A.T.E. both of which went down a real storm with the thousands of spectators and skateboarders in the region who are mad about this sport. We also had the MTV Arabia music stage at the festival and they treated crowds to a live performance from the wonderful energetic Abri along with local supporting acts from DubaiLime.
Whether you were interested in browsing through the sports and adventure retail section of the event, watching some of the sports demos or getting your hands dirty and trying out a sport there really was something for everyone. Some of the sports to try included zorbing, abseiling, climbing, zipline, human foosball, skateboarding, an extreme gaming zone or blokarting and RC car and helicopter demos in the outdoor arena.
The water sports area on the cornice had the 1st Abu Dhabi National Dragon Boat festival with over a thousand people taking part, the National Wakeboarding Championships and demonstrations and trials of wakeboarding, wakesurfing, sea bobbing, rock climbing volleyball and sea kayaking."

DDE Champs 2010 at ASL:
 
The DDE Champs this year is planned to be one of the biggest ever done! With the support of the ASL festival, this year’s DDE Champs will incorporate a top-level purpose built ‘street course’ and ‘vert ramp’. Top skaters and BMXers from around the world will converge in the capital, Abu Dhabi to showcase their skills. As this is the 10th year for the DDE Champs, this is planned to be the largest and most spectacular event to date!
