Shakespeare’s funniest comedy - A Midsummer Night’s Dream - in a very, very funny, easy-to-understand musical adaptation arrives in Abu Dhabi as part of an international tour.

The acknowledged masters of Shakespeare for children and young people and families – Shakespeare 4 Kidz – bring their hit five-star Edinburgh Festival show to Abu Dhabi Cultural Foundation, now in a bright new actor-musician production.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream is the story about a city abuzz with the excitement of a royal wedding between Duke Theseus of Athens and Queen Hippolyta of the Amazons. But another wedding dispute amongst four young friends is the trigger for mayhem when they run away into the neighbouring woods and disrupt an also-feuding King and Queen of Fairyland.

Add to the mix the secret midnight rehearsals of a tribute entertainment by six working men of Athens.

What could possibly go wrong?

Everything.

And it’s all down to the mischievous sprite Puck – who relishes the opportunity to disrupt the play rehearsals, trick the Fairy Queen and create havoc amongst the four friends.

And a hilarious wedding entertainment finale as we witness the mishaps of the ‘first night, opening, premiere’ of the The Most Lamentable Comedy and Most Cruel Death of Pyramus and Thisbe.

The result is the funniest, easiest-to-understand version of ‘The Dream’ you’ll ever see.
