The Westin Abu Dhabi Kilomarathon Charity Run! ( The first ever Kilomarathon of UAE)

The first ever Kilomarathon in the UAE ( 26.2 Km) comes to Abu Dhabi! Run under the lights on one of world's most iconic golf courses, Abu Dhabi Golf Club, where runners will complete 6 laps set across the lush green garden course with bit of pavement and sand to navigate through to make it a true cross country run. The Kilomarathon is a unique race. With a distance of 26.2kms (16.3 miles), it’s a good stepping-stone up from a half marathon and for those considering a full marathon in the future. Runners and walkers of all levels are welcome. The run will be a six lap event and participants can also opt for a half Kilomarathon or a baby kilo run consisting of one lap. Children under the age of 12 can also participate in a 2.5kms children’s run The Westin Abu Dhabi Golf Resort & Spa charity run supports the 2013 Road to Awareness fundraising campaign by Starwood Hotels & Resorts, aimed to support and fund UNICEF projects . Since the beginning of the campaign in 2008, over 2.5 million$ has been raised for this great cause! The event promises to be a community event where families can spend some quality time. From food and beverage stands, Spa area to Kids zone where children of all ages can enjoy face painting, bouncy castle and even a movie. One can also indulge and shop in “Westin Bazaar”. The Bazaar promises to offer a great mix of products.
