Cultural Foundation Classics: “Raphaelle, Jérémie and Edgar Moreau”
The three Moreau siblings, Edgar (cello), Raphael (violin) and Jérémie (piano) who will be performing Tchaikovsky’s one-of-a-kind piano trio, written as a tribute to a valued friend who passed away).
Coming from a family of musicians, both Raphaelle and Edgar began their journey with music at the age of four. In 2011, Edgar won second prize at the International Tchaikovsky Competition at the age of 17, while Jérémie won first prize at the Flame Competition. In 2017, Raphaelle was chosen by Renaud Capuçon to receive the Livio Benedetti Award. Currently, the Moreau siblings all have successful soloist careers, but still come together on the rare occasion to experience music together. Closing the performance will be another trio performance with piano, this time by Brahms, presenting a rhythmically challenging piece, which gives a larger-than-life feel to the work.
