Poetry in Action at the Cultural Foundation

Australian Theatre Group - Poetry in Action is coming to the Abu Dhabi Cultural Foundation for Public and School Shows this October and November 2025, bringing poetry to life with three electrifying shows, designed to inspire, educate and entertain!

There are three shows at the Cultural Foundation are at 4pm, 6pm and 8pm for different age groups and families:

The Poetry Shows:


1 - AT 4PM THE POETS’ QUEST 

[for 8-14 year olds and families]

Embark on an epic adventure with The Poets’ Quest. Join William Blake (not the William Blake – it’s an actor obvs!) as he discovers the future of the world hinges on his poetic prowess! This is a time travelling poetry adventure, as Blake journeys through time to win back his true love Grace and save the world!


The show demonstrates how to master rhyme, rhythm, and imagery while rooting for Blake’s quest to win back love and rewrite destiny.

2 - AT 6PM MUSE IT OR LOSE IT 

[for 13-16 year olds and families]

From sonnets to slam poetry - discover the magic of self-expression through poetry and creative writing in MUSE IT OR LOSE IT!

On Mount Olympus, the Muses argue over whether music or poetry is the best art form. This high-energy comedy explores poetry through live performances, linking classic literature with contemporary works and showcasing techniques like metaphor, symbolism, and why words matter — with plenty of laughs along the way.

“Slam Poetry v. Shakepeare” 

3 - AT 8PM WORDS OF WAR 

[for 14 years old to Adult]

Dive into the raw world of Wilfred Owen with WORDS OF WAR, a dynamic performance showcasing his powerful poems, including “Dulce et Decorum Est” and “Anthem for Doomed Youth.” The show explores poetic techniques like imagery, irony, and rhythmic schemes while reflecting on the brutal realities of World War I.

This show looks at war through the lens of one of history’s greatest war poets.
