The Youth Orchestra and Choir return at Cultural Foundation for an exciting Family Concert on December 9, presenting a program titled "Winter’s Tales’ . Under the baton of Aldo Dotto and Helen Kerr, the talented students of the Youth Orchestra and Choir will perform famous pieces from the classical and Arabic repertoire, featuring also some talents from UAE.
The Youth Orchestra is now an established platform for young musicians in the capital to express their musical talent through educational programs, rehearsals, and concerts throughout the year.
The Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi is collaborating with the International Music Institute—one of the oldest institutes in the country, founded in 1994—to organize a program open to all music students in the United Arab Emirates. Students who participate are selected through an audition process.
The selected students become members of the Youth Orchestra and Choir and join a program consisting of free weekly rehearsals and workshops led by highly qualified instructors. In addition, students have the opportunity to perform in concerts at prestigious venues across the UAE. In the past years the Youth Orchestra and Choir have performed at Emirates Palace, at Etihad Arena for the NBA games, NYUAD and collaborated with prestigious orchestras such as the Royal Philarmonic Orchestra, the Wiener Muzikverein, the Seoul Philarmonic and more.
