Excellent film, and I appreciate that the university provides the opportunity to see recent Arabic cinema in this program / setting.

A screening of Seeking Haven for Mr. Rambo by Egyptian director Khaled Mansour

The story of Hassan and his dog, Rambo, as they go on a quest to save Rambo from Hassan's vengeful landlord, whom the dog attacked. On his journey through Cairo to find a safe haven for Rambo, Hassan is forced to confront the fears of his past and rediscover himself.

The film was also awarded the grand prize at the 2024 Red Sea International Film Festival and also won a prize for visual identity services and DCP services for post-production in the 5th edition of Amman Film Industry Days and Amman Projects Market.

Khaled Mansour

Khaled Mansour, director and scriptwriter, was born in Cairo in 1991 and has a degree in history from the Faculty of Arts at Cairo University. However, his deep love for storytelling led him to study cinema independently. Throughout his journey, Mansour has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to honing his craft. He actively engaged in esteemed film labs and markets, eagerly seizing every opportunity to connect with influential filmmakers and mentors.

These encounters enriched his artistic vision and contributed to his overall growth as a filmmaker. Khaled has written and directed numerous short documentaries and commercials. Seeking Haven for Mr. Rambo is his feature debut, which won the grand prize at the 2024 Red Sea International Film Festival.

The Arts Center at NYU Abu Dhabi is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for all patrons.

Entry to the NYUAD Campus is through either the East or West Parking or the Welcome Center.

Patrons will be required to present a valid ticket to an event at The Arts Center upon entry to the campus.

As per current Department of Culture and Tourism guidelines a Green Al Hosn is NO LONGER needed to attend public events in Abu Dhabi.

The wearing of face masks is NO LONGER required in most indoor public places, including campus buildings.
