Emirati screenwriter Mohammed Hassan Ahmed offers an intensive workshop on screenplay writing techniques for narrative works.

The workshop covers several key topics: 

An introduction to the art of screenwriting, dramatic treatment, the balance between creativity and professionalism in screenwriting, character development and dialogue writing, and the journey from script to production. The workshop includes film samples and practical exercises.

This session is held as part of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF), whch is organized by the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre (ALC), as part of the Centre’s efforts to promote culture, foster a love of reading, and provide a platform for the public to explore the latest cultural topics and the latest book releases.

Mohamed Hassan Ahmed: Author and Scriptwriter

Mohammed Hassan Ahmed has extensive experience in the film industry in the UAE and is considered one of the founding figures of the country's film scene.

He has worked as a professional screenwriter for cinema and television for over 22 years. His films have won 33 international awards for Best Screenplay and Best Film.

He has written more than 20 films, both short and feature-length, and his film Sabeel was screened in the official competition at the Berlin International Film Festival.

In addition to cinema, he has written over 10 television drama series and has contributed to the writing and editing of numerous documentary films for both television and cinema.

He regularly conducts screenwriting workshops across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. He has published four literary works, and his cinematic book on screenwriting, titled The Silent Light, has also been released.

By car: There are several ways to reach your destination, but the most direct involves heading southeast on 18th St/Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed St, then following a series of turns including Rabdan St, President Joko Widodo St, and Al Mu-Atamarat St. GPS navigation is highly recommended for accuracy.

 

By public transportation: You can easily reach your destination by taking bus L41 to Al Muʽtamarāt Street / ADNEC, followed by a four-minute walk. Alternatively, take bus 33 or 41 to the same stop (Al Muʽtamarāt Street / ADNEC), then walk for approximately five minutes.

By taxi: You can easily reach your destination by taking a taxi or a ride-hailing app.
